Skin care Awareness

gentle skin care

"It's absurd to ignore ourselves when we want to know the world!" said Plato.

How about starting the exploration of the world and the refined dimensions of existence, with our own body as the starting point, the terrestrial vehicle of each of us?

How about understanding, to the deep layers, invisible to a simple glance - the SKIN - our first boundary of contact/separation from the environment?

The skin is the largest organ, covering, serving, and protecting the entire surface of the body, approximately 2 square meters.

In addition to protection, it is a true self-contained ecosystem, hosting a frenetic wealth of life composed of various microorganisms: bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites.

The skin is also an object of emotion, desire, attachment, but also of rejection, envy, dissatisfaction.

It responds to shame, but also to pride or to the hybris with which we have inflated ourselves as a species.

There are days when we feel good in our skin, we're so happy we could burst, but it can also be itchy, we scratch, we get "goosebumps", we have a "thick skin", we protect our skin, we blush like a crab, we turn pale, and other times we run to "get out of our skin" or we insinuate ourselves under someone else's skin.

Every thought has a resonance in the body.

The body responds to the movement of the mind. We hear more and more about "psychosomatic" conditions.

Even the origin of the word suggests the unity of mind and body: psy = psychological plane, and soma = physical plane.

We do not have a completely separate mind and body, they are One.

The skin is a living mirror of metabolic imbalances or dysfunctions of internal organs, it can even signal psychocognitive conflicts.

The skin is an interface for recognition, identification, and relationship.

It may even be a mark of personal identity, an intelligent boundary that periodically regenerates itself, a biosensor that knows our feelings and emotions at any moment.

So surely looking at the skin like this, we are interested in what we apply to it daily, how we see it, how we feel it, what responses occur when interacting with it (the skin derives from the same embryonic sheet as the brain, more melanocytes seem to have a neuronal origin, 70% of the nerve receptors in the skin respond to pain perception, so we are dealing with an intelligent organ, capable of pertinent responses).

I kept wondering what would be the most suitable moment for connection with the skin?

The answer invariably came: the moment of washing.

We go through it daily, we can't find excuses for lack of time or conditions, except in extreme physical or mental situations.

That is indeed our moment, only ours, in which we cannot run away from ourselves and we can connect directly to it.

We can thank it for its wonderful cooperation and intercellular coordination, for daily support, for unbeatable protection against infectious agents, for... for... everyone finds a reason.

Could we get to know its manifestation more closely?

Could we choose care skin products from a more objective perspective, more consciously, uninfluenced by trends, magazines, or marketing strategies?

Is it possible to offer the skin natural care support, mechanically, thermally, or chemically unaltered?

What urges us to the daily act of washing?

Is it a need for physical cleansing or is it something much deeper?

In addition to care and understanding, in a society sold to the image, how can we value the skin without harming it?

What are some simple ways to match it with the daily state and outfit?

What colors to wear according to the skin tone and undertone? Some cool or warm ones or on the contrary, more neutral ones?

How is the skin an ultra-sensitive device for the surrounding environment and what is their mutual influence?

To answer all these questions, together with a talented designer and a present environmental engineer, we have created a unique event to which I invite you on March 2nd, live, in Cluj. I would be delighted if you joined, stay tuned, we will announce the registration details soon on the FB page:

Or if you want details, write me on the contact details and I will get back to you with an email.
