Oral Cavity - A Living Mandala

ree

What happens in the oral cavity and what escapes us among consciousness?

The mandala constitutes a symbol and at the same time a ritual, originating from Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the Universe.

The mandala is a circular diagram that rigorously maintains a certain symmetry concentrating with all its force on a center, typically dividing the surface into four equal segments.

The term "mandala" is inherited from the Sanskrit language and currently designates various forms of messages, some very far from the original religious point.

The mandala is a compound word consisting of the combination of two terms, "manda" (essence, spirit, energy, circle, sphere) and "la" (container, possessor, vessel).

Studies on the culture and civilization of the Far East analyze the historical evolution of the mandala and say that in Western culture, the mandala has been defined as a "psycho-cosmogram," having the power to attract attention towards its center, in other words, towards Unity, towards the Divine, and ultimately towards our own Center.

I am preparing content for adult oral care, and in this context, I am playing with a graphical representation of the teeth and their arrangement.

... I let myself be guided by the drawing.

... what wanted to "flow" through the tip of the pencil settled

... and it resembles a DENTAL MANDALA.

It enriches my understanding of this region with new meanings, still lacking in literature in explicit symbolic meanings.

If I look behind the material, I see that the oral cavity actually combines Heaven with Earth, the skull with the mandible, thoughts with their expression, desires with possibilities, mental illusions with palpable realities.

Dental occlusion (the manner and level of tooth contact) should be a horizontal plan, says dental science. Most of the time, it is uneven, too concave or too convex.

It speaks of attachment to the world below or to the world above, to matter or to spirit.

A straight plan speaks of balance.

The more pronounced these profiles are found in consultation, the more challenging the work of balancing Being will be.

I said some time ago: "Consciousness can stumble at the occlusal level." There is an intra-dental force that prevents you from seeing!

"But the occlusal pattern also influences the elevation of Consciousness!" The more coherent and stable the occlusal flexibility, the more comprehensive the opening to clarify things with oneself.

And I stick to this opinion.

Three-dimensionally, starting from the drawing, if you do an imaginative exercise, TRUTH resides in the center, in the middle of the 4 quadrants, be they temporary, mixed, or of permanent dentition.

The tongue, the powerful muscular organ (it contains no less than 17 muscles), has its headquarters in the mandibular arch, on Earth, but the correct articulation of sound or swallowing will organically place it in the center as well.

It remains not very "attached" either to the floor of the mouth or to the hard palate.

It flexibly oscillates constantly between Heaven and Earth.

It could constitute a reliable instrument for bringing Being back to true Present. However, very few people have a correct lingual posture in repose, in mastication, in swallowing, or in articulating sound.

It is the main element that helps stabilize the jaw and relax it when it reaches the corresponding hard palate.

... many touch the roof of the mouth only with the tip of the tongue, their body remaining low. This leads to other muscular compensations for the proper "sealing" of this correct closure. The only area where pressure can be exerted, and it is indicated to do so, is the palate, not the teeth.

I leave this as the Meditative theme for the new week to which I just gave my blessings!

Instead of a conclusion: The Oral Cavity is an organic "fraction" for studying and healing the body if we manage to penetrate its mysteries. It is an environment that speaks freely:

about us,

about the world,

about connections between organs and systems (all the body's energy meridians pass through here),

about balanced or unbalanced polarities within us,

about mental clarity,

about relational or family dynamics,

about our personality (the character we end up "playing" and not the entire being we have agreed to embody) through dental arrangement and alignment.

If you feel you want to understand your own dental mandala in more detail, I invite you to a private session. Leave me a comment, write me a message in the Contact section, or an email, and I will get back to you with details.
